Who Is Kate Voiles?

I grew up in Lake Arrowhead, California and entered the horse world at age 12. My first job was a trail guide and I fell in love with the connection and relationship I could experience with a horse.

At 17, I left the mountains, and headed to the beach to the University of California, Irvine. I loved college social life and switched from pre-med to Communication Studies. I then transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara where I worked at the Education Abroad Program for the UC system. UCSB is where I took public speaking, writing, small group communication, and one on one communication courses. I chose this major because I enjoy communicating with others and building relationships. I have a strong connection with people, have a great deal of empathy, and have the desire to teach, help and support others. I have a counseling certificate from AACC.

Once I graduated with my BA in Communications, I moved to San Diego and started my sales, management and marketing career in fashion and high-end retail. I started with Neiman Marcus and then ventured on to Louis Vuitton. I opened and managed stores for Louis Vuitton, Dior and Baccarat. Trained sales staffs and enjoyed traveling all over the world for these companies and enjoyed the experience of Corporate America. My career moved me from San Diego to Aspen Colorado where I enjoyed coordinating events and fashion shows with celebrities and skiing almost every day in winter, hiking in the summertime. Although I enjoyed fashion and the business world,  I missed my horses, and yearned to have them in my life again.

Once I had my second child, it was time to spend more hours at home and have the boys experience life on a ranch.  We moved near Durango in spring of 2008. When the economy slowed down considerably, my husband currently a builder and a solar system designer, and myself a full time mother, had to create a new career in a small town.  We also wanted to complete our dream to help children in crisis here at this ranch. We truly wanted to share this beautiful place with others in need…. Being huge animal lovers: Horses, milk goats, dogs and cats also find their home at Bear Dance Ranch. I had to find something I could work into my schedule of training horses and taking care of my young children, while creating a non profit organization at the ranch.

I truly wanted to build my own businesses online and even though it has many benefits, it also has it’s struggles… there is a substantial learning curve! I reached out to others and finally found the right people to do business with, the right companies, the right tools and services that make sense for me, creating income and truly enjoying connecting with others all over the world. We are also able to carry out our dream of Bear Dance Ranch.org that we plan to help hundreds of children in their journey through life.. give unconditional love and support, focusing on respect, integrity, building confidence and skills. Giving Back is Huge.
